Description: Vintage unique 1940s Los Ballesteros Mexico Taxco Butterfly Pin Brooch. An Early Exceptional 1940s Los Ballesteros Sterling Silver Pin. It is bold and has a look of elegance. Expertly crafted so that when worn it has a balanced and outstanding structured look. The butterfly has a scalloped pattern throughout and tapers smoothly from top of its open wings towards the tip points at the bottom while the middle is deep and channeled . This is an early authentic piece from the Los Ballesteros Silvermiths who were renowned experts in making fine Mexican silver jewlry that came to international fame. Very ersatile for accessorizing and pleasing to look at. Measurements 2 1/4 inch wide at top of wings 1 3/4 inch long. About 5mm thick. Fully hallmarked 925 and makers marks.
