Description: This Brown & Bigelow advertising thermometer and calendar is a great addition to any collection! The thermometer (or thermoplak) features a glass front with a blue glittery foil back with a shadow scene of a farm nestled in the rolling hills. The name on corner indicates this was made for Mathieson Poultry Farm, located in Zeeland, Michigan. The Mathieson Farms specialized in "Pure Bred Hollywood Leghorns." The Leghorn Chicken is a great egg-laying breed. A gold frame encases the thermometer with a chain at the top for hanging. A calendar is attached to the bottom with the date 1932. The original box for the thermometer and calendar has directions for "restoring the calendar" after shipping. This little beauty of a thermometer was sourced at a local estate sale. This advertising thermometer measures 6" x 4". The calendar, which hangs from the thermometer, is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
