Description: This picturesque blue and white transfer print pitcher was made in England at the William Adams & Sons Tunstall pottery factory. It is a piece from the Adams Souvenir Series and features the Plymouth, Vermont home of President Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President. Imported by the Boston-based company, Jones, McDuffee & Stratton, it was made for Ruth M. Aldrich, the proprietor of a tea room located in Plymouth, Vermont during the 1920's and 1930's. This handsome pitcher stands approximately 6” tall and 7” in width, including handle and spout. It features a finely detailed blue transfer print, of President Coolidge’s homestead, set against a bright white background. The handle and the rim of the pitcher feature a lovely blue floral print. It is marked on the base with the blue Adams Souvenir Series ink stamp and the Jones, McDuffee & Stratton importer stamp. This vintage Americana pitcher is in good condition with the exception of a few small chips along the base, a tiny nick to the tip of the spout and some discoloration under the President Coolidge banner. Despite these few flaws this is a handsome piece of blue and white transfer pottery that has been well preserved.
