Vintage Schwinn Cruiser 5, 1980 Chicago Factory Drop Bar "Gravel" Build

Description: This is a 1980 Schwinn cantilever frame with Atom 5 spd hub & cable activated drum brake on the rear. I'm not sure how original this bike is but at a minimum everything is period correct. It's obviously had tires and service through the years. The story relayed from the original owner is that this Cruiser 5 was set up and left the factory with the drop bar set up, something that was rarely done for employees personal bikes and not offered to the public or seen in any catalog.I had a similar era single speed cruiser with the same frame once upon a time, but I'm no Schwinn historian. I'm too tall to comfortably ride this bike and did not want to see this bike parted out or recycled for scrap... As much as I'd like to just detail it and hang it on the wall I figure there's a collector out there who truly deserves this bike. Flat Rate $300 Fedex Ground Shipping... I will have this bike professionally packaged in an X-large MTB box to minimize disassembly. The front wheel, pedals, seatpost and saddle will be removed. The stem will be pulled from the head tube to allow the bars to rest, secured, on the top tube. The large box will occur oversize charges but be a simpler solution for the both of us when it comes to packaging and reassembly.
