Description: This beautiful vintage icon is made in Sofrino Monastery near Moscow, Russia in 2001. It is contemporary icon created according to ancient Russian Orthodox Church traditions. The icon has very unusual subject; it represents Saint Spyridon. Spyridon, also Spyridon of Tremithus is a saint honored in both the Eastern and Western Christian traditions. It is blessed by Russian Orthodox church and has a logo of Sofrino Monastery on the back of the icon. On the front of the icon there is a writing in ancient Russian language Saint Spyridon. The icon is made on thick cardboard and reinforced by lacquered paper from both sides. The icon is decorated with gold and silver foil (see details). On the back the icon has special feature for hanging. Size is 5.5 x 4.5''. The icon is in excellent vintage condition but it might have some minor imperfections (see pictures).
