Description: Collectors lithograph print (from original pencil on Vellum 1982) by Ray Wallace special productions, Inc San Pedro, California Ray Wallace was a renowned designer, artist, architect, shipbuilder, licensed master mariner and ocean-racing yachtsman. He participated in many transpacific and transatlantic sailing races. This print measures 9.25” x 6” and would frame beautifully. It is in new condition, taken from a box of unsold prints acquired in an estate sale. “The ship Columbia under the command of Captain Robert Grey proceeds cautiously over the bar upon her discovery of the “Columbia” river in 1792. Trading for sea otter furs in the Pacific Northwest, the Columbia was the first American ship to circumnavigate the world and thus opened up the China Trade with the American colonies. A replica of this famous ship, designed by Ray Wallace in 1958 presently sails the Rivers of America at Disneyland Anaheim California.”
