Description: Found at an estate sale, this beautiful 8" x 10" framed oil painting by noted artist H. Hargrove shows a charming country home in the snow. An antique car and a tree swing are in the front yard. The light and the bare trees give it a tranquil and almost magical quality. Painted on canvas, it's signed by the artist in the lower right corner. An Artistic Interiors certificate of authenticity on the back of the canvas documents that this is a certified original oil painting with a certification number of 189777. It's framed without glass in a handsome wood frame. A label on the back indicates that the frame may be hand-carved (see photos). As is unfortunately all too often the case at estate sales, I wasn't able to learn anything about the history of this marvelous oil painting, which is also sometimes described as a serigraph. I would guess it to be around 50 years old. Several photos show details of this painting as viewed through a 10X loupe. Over the years the frame has unfortunately acquired some minor damage and one of the stretcher wedges for the canvas has been lost (see photos). This framed picture weighs 3 lbs., making it easy to hang.
