Description: VINTAGE 1949/50 Lionel Postwar O GAUGE No 6220 AT&SF Black Switcher Diesel~RUNS! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS CLASSIC!!!! The 6220 A.T. & S.F. NW2 diesel switcher was an all-new locomotive design produced by Lionel in 1949. It is a reliable diesel with excellent quality and attention to detail. Even in today's marketplace, it's a desirable diesel. The 6220 -- and its O gauge cousin the 622 -- featured a new bell ringing feature within the interior of a diesel locomotive. This novel concept was borrowed from the 1665 bell-ringing steam switcher, which was last manufactured in 1946. A small bell was installed within the diesel and as the train travelled along the track, the bell produced a continuous and frequent 'ding'. Unfortunately, some owner elected to disconnect or remove the bell as it would become a nuance after a few minutes of use. When purchasing a 622 or 6220 these days, be careful to ensure the bell and its associated components are still mounted within the locomotive.Lastly, the 6220 was included in one 027 gauge work train set. The set consisted of the 3464 operating box car, 6462 gondola, 6520 searchlight plus a 6419 work caboose at the end and was sold with these components in both 1949 and 1950.FeaturesStandard features of the 6220 includes: two axle Magnetraction, three-position E-unit, headlight at each end, dual operating coil type couplers, front marker lights, wire handrail plus GM & Santa Fe decals, black ornamental bell, silver ornamental horn and a radio wheel.PC-L-9/28/#1-DB-RK-1
