Description: Vietnam Nylon Canteen Cover 1968 DATEDRare, plastic-snap Vietnam nylon canteen covers. Dated 1968, this type of cover was only issued for a couple of years with the plastic fastener. Mainly used by the Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. New old stock. Some storage wear on the plastic snaps (slight scratches) and a rope stain on the bottom of the cover when they were bundled. Small blemishes, nothing big.NOTE: These canteen covers were experimental and did not last long in circulation with the plastic snaps because they do tend to crack and break away. These covers were only issued for a couple of years with the plastic fastener. Mainly used by the Marine Corps, they figured out that the snaps just didn't make due with conditions. Hence the switch over back to metal snap. Sometimes there can be irregularities in stitching, but these are from the original US manufacturer box, never touched.SOLD AS IS2 canteen covers for $44.50.
