Description: As beloved as these coins are today, back when they were in circulation, the government absolutely hated them! All because the year marking kept fading away! For that reason, the government completely stopped the production of Buffalo nickels as soon as their 25 year “mandatory minimum minting” period was concluded. And unfortunately, this problem still persists to this day. But when you get the coin, if you look closely just below the Native American’s neck, you can see that this coin was minted in 1913. Great! But now the problem is that there were actually two types of Buffalo nickels produced in 1913. This is an example of type 2, as you can clearly see a flat line above “five cents” on the reverse, which is the more scarce of the two types. And even though these coins have definitely seen some usage, they will still be a very rare and beautiful addition to anyone’s collection! And just because I’m in a good mood (I’m a teacher and it’s almost summer! lol), for a VERY limited time, I’m going to go ahead and include ANOTHER professionally slated and graded Penny and Nickel for FREE! AND I’ll go ahead and make sure that at least one of those is vintage! You’ll never see a deal like this again!
