Signed by Illuminator Alida Knights Both volumes are by Elbert Hubbard, published by the Roycroft Shop, about 6.25"' x 8.5" softcover (very old suede leather with yapped edges), 24 pages plus colophon, illustrated by hand. Paper handmade. Elbert Green Hubbard (June 19, 1856 - May 7, 1915) was an American writer, publisher, artist, and philosopher. Raised in Hudson, Illinois, he had early success as a traveling salesman for the Larkin Soap Company. Hubbard is known best as the founder of the Roycroft artisan community in East Aurora, New York, an influential exponent of the Arts and Crafts movement. Acceptable used condition. Fading to the cover. Pages are delicate and fragile. A satin flyleaf of one book is tattered. A few of the hand bound pages are loose. The suede covers are faded in places and are rubbed.
