Matrix numbers are: Side 1: pal381122j Side 2: pal381122c (Photos of these numbers on the record can be sent or posted if requested) Most importantly for this edition of “Thriller”, is its unique status as a rare edition of the album: its back cover does print any production credit going to Michael Jackson (he co-produced four songs) which subsequent editions of the album cover eventually had. Quincy Jones is the only credited producer in this version, making it a misprint. This edition is much sought after (as is clear from the market for this record and its appraisal by sellers). Imagine this classic album when it was first released back in 1982 with such a mishap on its cover, the correction of which making these misprinted cover versions rare in number and the first to have been issued to the public! Sound condition: Good Upon receiving the record, both sides were effectively cleaned to ensure the best sound possible. The album, overall, sounds immaculate. On “Billie Jean” Jackson’s vocals, when he sings a word with “s” in it, tend to make a lisp effect. Minus these defects, the album is excellent in sound, particularly “Beat It” and “Human Nature”. The inner sleeve, with credits and lyrics to songs, has been torn but can still contain the disc. If desired, I can provide a clear non-scratch plastic disc holder to protect the vinyl in transit and ensure it doesn’t get scratched or damaged. Cover is very good for its age.
