Learned Edo-style wax casting techniques from his father, Shoen I, in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. 1935 Assumed the name of Shoen II Awarded a special prize at the Ministry of Education Art Exhibition in 1943. Certified as a national art conservator Awarded a prize at the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Kitanihon Shimbun 1955 Received the Toyama Prefecture Craft Art Merit Award Received the 1st Toyama Shimbun Culture Award 1962 Appointed as a member of the Japan Contemporary Crafts Artists Public Committee 1964 Recognized as a holder of Toyama Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property Techniques 1965 Became a member of the Jury of the Nitten Became a councilor of the Japan Contemporary Crafts Artists Association 1966 Became a member of Nitten 1974 Became a member of Nitten Became a national intangible cultural property holder of wax mold casting He was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 4th class.
