Description: SPRINGTIME PIERRE AUGUSTE COT HANDFINISHED BY G. BOUITH ORNATE GOLD GILT FRAME, DR. CARL RACH This listing is for an art painting over print that comes in a vintage, ornate, gold gilt frame. This painting and the other one that I will listing tonight came from Dr. Carl Rach, the famous brew master, Staten Island, N.Y. He purchased both paintings from the auction of John Jacob Astor's Estate after the death of Astor in the Titanic Sinking. The painting is titled Springtime original by Pierre Auguste Cot, and this is a handfinished (painted over litho/print image, he did not do the faces) signed in lower right G. Bouith (I believe). I removed the painting and it is wrapped in some sort of Black material around the protective glass and a walnut panel board.The ornate frame has raised outer border, and raised inner section with gesso over wood fancy border, and inside are corner gesso leaves with faint ribbing band and inner most frame section has a border or raised beads. The frame has gold gilt with age wear and some issues as seen in photos. There is a glass plate over the image and the frame measures approx. 10-1/4 " BY 9-1/4" BY 2-3/8" high. The image alone is approx. 5-1/2" BY 4". When packed SECURELY for shipping, the weight is 3 pounds.
