Description: R-106 is a Russian backpack radio. It belongs to the first radio generation that was imported from the USSR to the GDR (1956). It was used for communication between commanders of tank units and their soldiers in the field. It was the last radio that used the AM mode; and was replaced by FM- radios R-105, R-108 and R-109. It uses six tubes, while three of them have a double function. The housing consists of plastic and has two chambers for the transceiver and the battery 2NKN24. The lid is water protected.
