Description: Listed here are 2 Royal Copenhagen ‘Blue Flower, curved’ dinner plates, #1621. This pattern is one of the earliest patterns produced by Royal Copenhagen, which is famous for their cobalt blue and white porcelain. The pieces are hand-painted, and each plate has subtle variations in design adding to their uniqueness. These pieces were produced in the early 1960s. These plates were produced as ‘second’ quality (scratch through the glaze over the wavy lines on back). I couldn't detect any obvious reason for the second quality classification. The plates have been used, but there are no cracks, chips or crazing. There are some minor use or stacking scratches that are visible, and some plates may have small flecks in the glaze from use. However, none of the use marks are obvious except under close examination. Please see the photos as I have tried to capture any flaws. Note that there are window reflections and shadow areas visible in the photos where I tried to capture scratching, etc, that were visible in photos only under those conditions. Also, the plates are both bright white with cobalt and they match in color. The plates are 10 inches in diameter, and 1 3/8 inches high to the rim. (gh)
