Description: This is a rare Marusan Atom 45 Tin Litho Friction Car, made in Japan in the 1950s by Marusan. The car is vintage and made of tin. It measures about 8 inches long with a 3.75 inch wheelbase. The attention to detail is impressive and the car is in good shape for its age. Color and detail are terrific, but this is a played with, old toy with lots of scuffs and scratches. Friction mechanism works when right rear wheel is pushed in slightly and turned manually in a clockwise direction. Friction mechanism does not work as intended when the car is pushed on a flat surface. Car makes a revving engine sound when the right rear wheel is turned. This rare car would make a great addition to an old toy collection.
