Description: An absolutely stunning vase from the mid 1800s by Ignac Fischer of Pest, Hungary. Trained at Herend, he founded his own decorating shop in 1864 and branched out into manufacturing his own wares in 1867. By 1895, his shop had been purchased by Zsolnay, so the Fischer pieces are extremely hard to find, since they were only in production for a limited time, more than 150 years ago! This piece is large in stature at nearly 12" tall and the top of the vase is 6.75" in diameter. With the hold in the middle, it could still be used for flowers if plated, or dried. Or, it could be used affixed as a lamp base. This piece has been painstakingly hand painted and each design has painted gold trim, resembling cloisonne. No chips or cracks, it is in remarkable antique condition!
