Description: The listing is for a rare Victorian silver plate nut bowl manufactured by the Meriden Silver Plate Company, 1869 - 1898. The company was organized in 1869 by Charles Casper and others to manufacture silver plate hollow ware. The company is not to be confused with Meriden Britannia Co as they were separate manufacturers. The bowl is quite unusual as it is in the form of a hickory nut with hickory nuts hanging on branches and stems and leaves of the tree forming part of the base which it rests on and a branch of the tree forms the handle. Condition: There bowl is in good Victorian condition as shown in the pictures. There are no monograms or visible repairs. There is a leaf not attached to the bowl but doesn't interfere with the way the bowl rests. Look at the pictures, ask questions. Size: The bowl measures 10.25 inches at the widest point and stands 6.75 inches tall. Shipping: We gladly combine shipping whenever possible. At this time, we are unable to ship to Alaska or Hawaii. We will ship the bowl by Fed X or USPS Advantage at our discretion. Returns: We try to describe our items as accurately as possible. Please ask questions prior to bidding or buying an item, we will gladly answer as soon as we can. Our items are not returnable for issues that we have shown in the pictures or described.
