Description: Sculpted 9 lb., basalt, prehistoric Paleo-American rock art hand tool. The main frontal image suggests an indigenous human face. Obvious wear patterns, and hand/finger placement contours imply its use as a hammer or smashing tool. It is an amazing example of ancient craftsmanship and artistry; certainly a gift from the antediluvian inhabitants of North America. Found "as is" East Multnomah County, Oregon, near the Columbia River. Thank you for viewing this incredible artifact from the amazing artisan toolmakers of the distant past. Side image appears to be a Columbian Mammoth. (More images than allowable pictures.)
