Description: Wonderful Find! Heavy sterling silver toggle charm necklace with (9) French franc coins encased in simple yet elegant sterling silver casings. Purchased in Paris from the Peggy Huynh Kinh boutique on 9 Rue Coëtlogon about 20 years ago. ( It was quite expensive). Two tone -gold and silver. Coin dates range from 1970-1997. In 2002 when most of Europe phased out their currency for the Euro, the coins themselves became popular for making jewelry. I purchased many pieces from the PHK boutique when I lived in Paris, including this lovely necklace and a matching bracelet with European coins and a few French franc pendants. Well made, all are prong set. Hallmarked with the PHK logo. Toggle bar engraved Peggy Huyn Kihn. Ring is stamped 925, PHK and another small stamp with many letters or numbers including 925, which may be an indicator that the piece is from France. Beautiful coins. Largest coin is 1 1/4", smallest is 3/4".
