Description: Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home.It is made of chestnut and is painted.The upper shelf has a serpentine shaped back splash above with applied carvings.Shelf is supported by 2 turned columns with a beveled mirror in between.The lower shelf is supported by 4 small corbels.Between the corbels is a serpentine shaped breast board with Eastlake spoon carving. It measures just over 54 inches wide, 80.5 tall, and is 11.25 inches deep.The firebox opening is 35.5 inches wide by 36 tall.Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. After the last coat of paint while it was still wet glitter was thrown onto it.... There is a chip at the right side of the lower shelf. The right column has a light break at the bottom and the spindle that goes to the face of the mantel are broken, we have all pieces. Trips to NYC and New England are as needed. We can personally deliver if you are somewhat close to these routes much cheaper than freight or uship.
