It has been operating since 1975. The circular room has a diameter of 8 meters. It is possible to demonstrate the starry sky, the planets, the Sun, the Moon, unusual phenomena and movements of heavenly bodies. It is a small projection planetarium, type ZKP-II, manufactured by Zeiss Jena and has two projection heads, or slide projectors, each with 16 lenses, each projecting a certain part of the sky.Two projection heads make it possible to demonstrate the view of the night sky from the northern and southern hemispheres of the Earth. It is possible to represent the phenomena visible in the sky with the naked eye when viewed from Earth: 5800 stars, the Sun, the Moon, 5 planets of the Solar System (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), some visible nebulae, galaxies, the Milky Way.The device can be set to any day, month and year and show what the sky looked like or will look like in the past or in the future. Here it is possible to demonstrate a view of the night sky as a result of the precessional movement of the earth's axis in the range of +/- 13,000 years, to display astronomical coordinates, which is used when practicing classic navigation by the stars. There are additional projection devices for projecting the Solar System from a great distance, eclipses of the Moon, the Sun, to demonstrate the flyby of a comet. The programs for school groups are complemented by the screening of astronomical films, slides, and for children, the screening of fairy tales with an astronomical theme.
