Description: In this listing we are offering an original ancient pre-columbian pottery figure of an animal. We are not sure what type of animal this is supposed to represent. This figure is 3 3/8 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches across the bottom. The weight is 3.8 ounces. Part of the back section of the headdress & most of one leg is missing. The figure has not been cleaned & the surface patina has not been tampered with. There is an old lightly penciled marking on the back. The figure exhibits a pleasing honest encrusted surface patina & a visual quality acquired from many hundreds of years of age. This charming ancient figure is from the estate of an old time collector from Reading, Pa. who acquired his ancient pieces during the 1950's-1960's. We acquired a small number of items from his estate over a decade ago & have just decided to offer them for sale. We have not attempted to attribute this pottery figure to a specific pre-columbian culture. But, we guarantee that this is an original piece of ancient pre-columbian pottery. Please examine the photos closely and purchase based on your own judgement as to condition and value. This listing is for figure #22 & is inventory #11,646. Shipping is free only to addresses within the United States and available only to addresses within the United States.
