Description: We are pleased to offer this Original Antique Map of the Atlantic View Cemetary in Squan Village (now Manasquan) , NJ c.1878 Represented is the road filled with mourners, available 20 x 16 plots and a founding date of 1876. This map is a form of advertisement for the new Cemetary. The detail is beautifully intricate - a tiny man walks with a cane, a woman brought her umbrella; just in case, the cemetery is ringed by young evergreens and the church steeple boasts a cross on top, overlooking everything. History ( from current website) Atlantic View Cemetery started out as the burying ground for Ocean Hill Church, located on Church Street. The church dates back to 1842. In 1875, the Atlantic View Cemetery of Squan Village was organized and advertised plots of 20 by 16 feet. About this time an additional 10 acres were added to the burying ground from surrounding farmland. In very good or better condition NJ13
