Co. in 1918 for the U.S. Navy, the shell is mounted between a wood inlayed top, and wood base.On the bottom of the wood base is the name of the maker or owner"Father John Richard Gomes" A 4" 50 Caliber Gun fired America’s first shot of World War II, sinking a Japanese midget submarine, at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
