Description: This rug has been on the floor in a very low traffic area, clean, no tears, holes, vivid color and smoke free home. larger in size and excellent weaving. Purchased at the auction in 2008 and wearer won a Red Ribbon on this rug Gallup Intertribal Indian Ceremonial in 2002. This Germantown is fabulous in colors and quality. Mary B. Johnson weaver. Will be rolled up when shipped as these rugs should never be folded. Never been "washed" as natural dyes will run and ruin it. "beat" to remove dirt and spot clean if needed with gentle soap and water and rinse with damp cloth. Downsizing and won't fit in new home. Smoki Museum in Prescott, AZ has rug auctions 1-2 times per year and RB Burnham & Co does the auctions as they have a trading post on the reservation. Purchased in 2008 from this auction. The weaver most likely finished it around 2000-2001 and given the size, it took hundreds of hours. Weaving is taught in families thru the generations.
