Description: You are bidding on a (New) mfg. sun shade for a Lyman Alaskan, Military M-81, or M-82 Scope. Do you have one of the M-1C Garands from the CMP that did not come with a scope, then mounted a Lyman "Alaskan" scope to save a lot of money, since it is the same scope but without the rubber eye piece or sun shade? This is the solution for the sun shade. This sun shade is mfg. from (DOM) tubing (better and stronger than original) and is nearly identical to the original as far as size, operation and appearance are concerned. I say nearly identical as I make the sun shade stop out of black delrin and did not mfg. a steel replacement end cap to save on costs. As you can see from the photos it is hardly noticeable when looking at the front of the scope. It looks and functions as the originals do. This sun shade will fit any Lyman Alaskan scope or other scopes with a 7/8" diameter scope tube. (The Lyman Alaskan scope is not included in the sale.) What you will receive is shown in the last photo which shows the steel sun shade, O-ring installed in sun shade and black delrin washer. The (white nylon) washer is for photo contrast only. Also I will include written instructions as to how to install it. The sun shade is cold blued and matches my Lyman Alaskan scope pretty close and even looks somewhat aged. I'm sure you will like it. It has come to my attention that another seller on ebay is selling, M82 scope look-a-likes, without the sun shade and eye cup. This company is not including the front eye shade nut or trim ring and as such there is nothing on the front of the scope to lock the delrin washer in place.
