Description: Lledo Models of Days Gone DG15040 - AEC Regent Double Deck Bus London Transport / Lucozade Ilford Destination Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, taking over a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. Over the following 15 years, Enfield-based Lledo grew to be one of the most successful diecast manufacturers in the world, and were very proud to have continued to manufacture in the UK long after other manufacturers had shifted production to the Far East. In 1999 the company suffered a financial collapse, and the brand was acquired by rival diecast maker Corgi, who continued to produce models under the Lledo name for a few more years, but with manufacturing moved to China. This model, issued in 1999, was one of the last to be made by Lledo in Enfield. It depicts an AEC Regent double-deck bus. Finished in the iconic red livery of London Transport, it carries advertising for Lucozade. The Destination board shows Route No. 691, Ilford. Very good pre-owned condition, in original box. Box has minor age-related wear and some light creasing to hanging tab, but no serious rips or splits. Model itself is very clean and near-mint condition, only being removed from the box to photograph. See photos - all photos show actual item.
