Description: Linn LP12 Custom SkyFi Build with SME Tonearm and New Sumiko Songbird WHO WE ARESkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of high end audio equipment. Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.Through our sister company, which is an authorized dealer for McIntosh, Audio Research, Sonus Faber, ClearAudio, Project, and Sony ES, we have access to OEM parts, service, and support.----------This is a totally custom LP12 SkyFi build using state of the art modern components. I think the only remaining original part is the spring suspension, resulting in a significant improvement on top of the already great LP12 designs. The wood plinth is custom made using our own design. Featuring a solid Maple top, along with rosewood finger joints finished in clear satin. Just about every Mober upgrade available was installed including a solid aluminum top plate, upgraded bearing, upgraded motor, external power supply with speed monitoring and touch controls, two metal inner platter, machined main platter etc. etc. The tonearm is a formidable SME Magnesium series IV, and our suggested cartridge is a recently unobtanium Sumiko Blackbird Low Output MC (Moving-Coil). Other cartridge and tonearm options are also available. Final adjustment of suspension and calibration to be performed after final selection of components. The top laying dust cover is also available on request.
