These items are NOT dishwasher safe and cannot be washed with water on the outside. The decoupage/glue process does not tolerate water. Simply wipe out the inner of the candle to clean. Once the wax has burned, I insert a flickering, battery operated votive candle and it is perfect! I'll be listing other designs periodically!
