Description: December 8th, 1941 - The United States enters the second World War. Only months later in 1942, the Otis Lawson Company creates this Junior Bombsight game. Players drop marble 'bombs' through the 'bombsight,' attempting to flip and destroy enemy targets. Four of the six targets display a Japanese flag. Since this artifact from wartime America released in the months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, it captures the public sentiment of the time. In my opinion that makes this game a really cool piece of American history While this copy is in pretty good shape for its age, it does have some flaws. I tried to show these as best as possible so PLEASE EXAMINE ALL PICTURES FOR THE BEST IDEA OF CONDITION. I listed the flaws I noticed below:There is a fair amount of wear on many of the edges and corners, the worst of it being near the upper left cornerPart of the bottom of the lower box has a decent amount of stainingA small part of the wall of the lower box is torn where it attaches to the base. No split corner, though (3rd to last picture)Very slight warping around the rim of one of the 'bombsight' tubesIt is also worth noting that the targets don't always flip when hit by the marble. All cardboard targets attach to the main battlefield portion but I'm not sure if they're all in the right spots or facing the right direction. A little fine tuning/adjusting would likely fix this From what I've seen copies of Junior Bombsight only pop up online once every couple of years. Don't let the opportunity to own one slip by!
