Description: Here we have a vintage clothbound hardcover edition of Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott. The handsome deep maroon binding is accented with gold titles and decorations on the spine. There is no publishing date, but it was published in Chicago by W. B. Conkey Company, as part of the Library Edition collection, and features a gilt top edge on the text block. The condition is acceptable. There is significant edge wear on the hardcover boards, particularly on the bottom edges. The binding and hinges are still reliable, but the paper at the front and rear hinges is cracked. There is wear on the covers, and the bottom edge of the front cover is curled. A former owner's name is written on the first free endpaper. The tail of the text block is cockled.
