Description: For sale is an authentic antique hand forged blacksmith made 18th to 19th century wrought iron fireplace peel with a unique ram horn finial. Early settlers used it to put food items (bread, pies, etc) into the open fire as well shoveling or moving hot coals around. It has Great early blacksmith stretching and hammering signs throughout the piece! Great original blackened patina with ornamentations. It measures 39” long and 7" wide at the spade end. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections to be expected. The handle is straight. Please study the pictures carefully before committing to buy.
