Description: US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Blade is marked "Horstmann" over "Philadelphia". The grip, guard and pommel are all a little loose. The sharkskin grip is 97% complete. The double strands of straight wire and single strand of twisted wire wrap are 100% complete. The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and the folding side is blank. The knuckleguard is a bit deformed. The etched blade is unsharpened, some nicks on the lower half, has an overall darkened patina, and there is a little curve to the last 2" by the tip. The scabbard is solid with no dents/dings, and has pitting with some surface rust scattered throughout. The washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 29" (5/8" wide x 3/16" thick), length of the sword is 35 7/8", and in the scabbard it is 37 3/4". Check out my other War items!! Including More Swords and Many Bayonets!!
