Hansa Yegua Rambo 15" Machete w Sheath

Description: The Machete was used only once for about ten minutes, chopping freshly fallen green tan oak.Currently, this machete can only be acquired from the website, Machete Specialists. It’s a direct import from El Salvador, and apparently, it is issued to some branch of service people down there, or so I read. If you are exclusively chopping through green matter, this thing will certainly get the job done. The edge has a tendency to roll when striking hardwood and I cannot say the saw teeth on top do anything functional. They are essentially there for looks only, or perhaps present in order to complete some specialty task in a jungle that currently evades me. The sheath is made by Ontario knife company, and it was custom adjusted to fit this machete. The company who sells the machete do offer a sheath, but it’s been out of stock for quite some time, and after calling Machete Specialists to ask about availability, they said the sheath would be out of stock indefinitely. Hence, I adapted my own. By removing a single rivet on the Ontario sheath, and replacing it with two brass grommets, I opened up the width in order to accommodate the machete blade. It works quite well, almost as if it was made for it. The only reason I’m getting rid of this machete, is I primarily deal with hardwoods, and this steel type, and grind edge is simply too malleable. If you live in Florida, or if you live in the miserable jungles of South America, then this machete would probably serve you just fine. It has excellent balance, the handle is quite comfortable and solid, and the overall weight is about 14 ounces, excellent for swinging in dexterous slashing motions.
