Please have confidence in my 100% honest descriptions and please read the following carefully: This is an Original, American Flyer, "HO" Scale, No. 140, New York Central, "Hot Shot Freight" Train Set, Produced by The Master Craftsmen of The A.C. Gilbert Company of New Haven, Connecticut, Circa 1946 or so. The three freight cars that originally came in this set are missing. They would have been a lighted caboose, gondola & refrigerator car, all of which are fairly common and usually easily found. The loco and tender are all diecast metal and is absolutely beautiful condition, please see photos. This is the loco with the "Smoke & Choo-Choo" unit in the tender. I bench tested it and the loco runs nicely with the headlight working. The smoke & choo-choo also work. That said, this loco has been sitting unused for decades and really should be properly cleaned & lubricated before it will run like it should. The original 12 sections of curved track are included. This is the track with the bakelite roadbed and I do not see any cracks, chips or breaks in any of the sections. The set box lid is missing some of the "sides," for lack of a better term. Most of the pieces are loose and included, but some are missing. The original locomotive instruction sheet and the warning string tag are also included. Anyway, these old eyes don't see like they used to, so I ask that you take the time to "ZOOM IN" and look the photos over very closely, to determine for yourself just what we have here.
