Description: Fostoria American (Whitehall) 6" Three-Toed Bon Bon \ Candy Dish Please be sure to check our other auctions since we presently have, or soon will have, a number of Fostoria American and other cube patterned items up for auction. Fostoria Glass Co. produced high-quality elegant glass tableware for nearly 100 years. Founded in 1887 in Fostoria, Ohio, they moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, in 1892. Today many of their pattern lines are highly sought after by collectors. Line number 2056, American, was Fostoria Glass Co.'s most successful pattern, produced continuously from its introduction in 1915 until the Moundsville, West Virginia, plant closed in 1986. Fostoria American is the most widely sold and used glass pattern in US history. In 1983, Fostoria sold its factory to Lancaster Colony Corporation of Columbus, Ohio. Marketed as American Whitehall, it is made by machine, not hand, by the Lancaster Colony Corporation at its Indiana Glass Company subsidiary. This auction is for one Fostoria American (Whitehall) 6" Three-Toed Bon Bon \ Candy Dish. This dish, which is 2” tall and 6-3/8” in diameter at the rim, is in very good vintage condition with no cracks, cloudiness or fleabites; it does have a minor chip at one of the teeth which does not affect use or display.
