Description: Floyd Caves "Babe" Herman Rare Autograph Memorabilia Lot that includes the following: - An original black and white 8x10 licensed news photo stamped on back accordingly. This is not a reprint, but an original stamped and licensed press photo, beautifully depicting Herman in a formally dressed head shot. I have yet to find even a copy of this photo anywhere. This is truly a rare original. - An original hand signed check completed by Herman, dated 8-28-41. This beautiful check bears the Glendale Branch of Security First National Bank of Los Angeles emblem and is signed "F.C. Herman." After being born in Buffalo, NY. Herman's family moved to Glendale, California where he attended Glendale High School and lived the remainder of his life until his death in 1987. This piece is a very rare and nostalgic conversation piece as it not only bears Herman's personal signature of "F.C. Herman" as he often used to sign personal items and professional documents, as opposed to the "Babe Herman" signature which he usually signed for baseball fans; but also depicts the payee as the "So Calif Gas Company" in the amount of a whopping $11.24! LOL. - A Babe Herman signed 3x5 index card. - An original 1928 R315 (3-1/4"x 5-1/4"), Babe Herman of the Brooklyn Robins card. As you can see in the photo, the card is slightly off centered, but is otherwise in very good condition.Floyd Caves "Babe" Herman was one of the most noted power hitters of the late 1920s and early 1930s, and hit for the cycle a record three times; his .532 career slugging percentage ranked fourth among hitters with at least 5000 at bats in the National League when he retired. His.393 batting average .678 slugging percentage, 241 hits and416 total bases in 1930 remain Dodgers franchise records, with his 143 runs being the post-1900 team record; he also set team records(since broken) that year with 35 home runs and 130 runs batted in. This is a rare lot including both versions of Herman's signatures, including one on a personal bank check; a rare, if not one of a kind original 8x10 licensed press photo, and an original 1928 R315 baseball card. All items in this lot are in beautiful condition and include FREE SHIPPING via USPS Priority Mail!
