Description: EXCEPTIONAL REV WAR STUMP ANVIL: USED TO REPAIR FASCINE KNIVES AND SWORD BLADES Purchased many years ago as a campsite find, this is a blacksmith wrought iron anvil fashioned like a "Denglstock," used by the Pennsylvania Dutch to sharpen their harvesting scythes. It is, however, larger than most of those, and was found in a Rev War context. USE: The pointed end would have been hammered into the stump of a tree, or hardened ground, and the two horizontal rings would have prevented it from sinking further as the repaired blade was hammered on the anvil. Measures: 17 inches long. The anvil is 2 1/4 inches wide. Guaranteed authentic. SHIPPING is 20 dollars.
