Description: DATING TO THE EARLY EDWARDIAN ERA FASHIONED OF A DARK CHOCOLATE BROWN SILK SATIN AND IS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION. THE BODICE HAS A PIGEON FRONT STYLING WITH HIDDEN HOOK AND EYE CLOSURE UP THE FRONT, ACROSS THE LEFT BUST, AND UP THE SIDE. SEAFOAM GREEN SILK IS ENCASED BY CHEMICAL LACE WITH MATCHING VELVET BOWS TRIMMING THE FRONT. BONED HIGH COLLAR IN THE SILK AND LACE IS TRIMMED IN VELVET ON THE TOP EDGE. THE SLEEVES HAVE A PUFF FULLNESS WITH FINE MICROPLEATS THAT MATCH THE MICROPLEATS ALONG THE BUST. RUFFLING IS AT THE ELBOW WITH THE SLEEVE FALLING LONG IN MATCHING SILK, LACE, AND BOWS WITH CORDING TRIMMING THE CUFF. THE SKIRT IS IN MATCHING FABRIC WITH RUFFLING ENCIRCLING THE BOTTOM RUFFLY AROUND WITH THE BOTTOM EDGE BOUND IN WOOL. CLOSES WITH HOOK AND EYES IN THE REAR. CONDITION: THERE ARE SIX TINY SURFACE FRAYS TO THE SKIRT THAT ARE NOT HOLES, NOTE SEEN UNLESS INTENSELY STUDIED. THE INNER UNDERARMS SHOW STAINING WITH THE OUTER UNDERARMS SHOWING A MILD LIGHTNESS AND A BUFFING TO THE SATIN SHEEN. A SMALL ADDITION WAS ADDED THE REAR COLLAR ON EACH SIDE TO INCREASE THE SIZE. THE INNER COLAR WAS LINED IN A SILK DE CHINE THAT IS BREAKING AWAY AND I WOULD REMOVE THE TRACE REMAINS. A VERY BEAUTIFUL AND WEARABLE ANTIQUE EARLY EDWARDIAN GOWN.
