Each comic book will be enclosed in a mylar archival comic book bag with an acid free archival quality backing board then gently secured between the corrugated pads. I ship comics USPS Ground Advantage. The Collection: This comic is from a collection of many hundreds that belonged to a friend of our family who recently passed away. He bought them off the rack as a child in the 1940s and 50s. They stayed carefully tucked away in the same home since that time. The first time they were handled or moved is when they were put into a tub when his house was cleaned out after his death. This was not done by us but was mostly done carefully and only a few appeared to be damaged in the process. The original owner had no spouse or children and no other living family, so many of his things came to us. Included in this collection are many Dell Four Color and Disney titles, including a nearly complete run of Uncle Scrooge and a very long run of Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories, and many Captain Marvel Adventures and Marvel Family comics from the 1950’s. About Me: I used to be an avid comic collector. I always had a copy of the Overstreet guide and was always on the lookout for comics on my wish list. I even worked in a comic book store for about a year when I was in college. That was a long time ago. I never lost the love of comics, but the space to store a big collection became problematic and I sold my very large collection in the late 1980’s. I just never started collecting again. About This Listing: Publisher, series, issue, and title: SHAZAM! Vol. 3 No. 18 May-June 1975 “The Celebrated Talking Frog of Blackstone Forest!” First impression: Not bad, glossy, minor flaws, spine roll. Degree of gloss: Moderate gloss to the low side of high gloss. Condition of cover: A rub and some scratches in a small patch on Shazam’s arm, a few very minor but perceptible rubs in the title, some minor denting in multiple locations. Overhang wear on the right edge from the spine roll, some abrasion to the extreme edge of the top and bottom. Corners: Both right corners are bent over with the overhang, visible wear but almost sharp. Left corners have very minor wear and are just showing some fibers. Spine and staples: Staples are off a bit toward the front. There may be a touch of a miswrap since the amount of spine roll is less than the amount of white on the front of the book would suggest. The staples are a bit matte or even tarnished. The spine is in good shape except for a slight roll, about ⅛” difference between the front and back cover. Multiple stresses along the spine. Original staples: Yes. Interior staples: Tight and clean, a little to the left of the fold, and matte.. Paper color and condition: Off-white to cream. Very soft and supple. Smell: Cardboard. Interior condition: A few printer’s creases at the top of some pages, but nothing serious. No major flaws and not much reading wear. If I had to give it a grade: 7.0 Fine/Very Fine I am not a professional comic book grader, but I have done my best to describe and photograph the comic being offered in this listing.
