This name was used from 1969 to 1976. The name Stingray was used this time as a single term, in contrast to the C2 Generation from 1963 to 1967 which was called Sting Ray. The name wasn't used again until the C7 was released in 2014.The 1972 Corvette, like its predecessor the 3rd Generation Corvette, shared a similar engine and chassis. Also, both had an updated interior and body design.
