The DRS6-4-15 was touted as first “road switcher” type in the US. CAGY also owned an AS416, an upgraded Baldwin road switcher purchased in 1951, numbered #606, producing 1600 horsepower. Both versions rode on A-1-A cast trucks (center axle unpowered) which spread its considerable weight on 12 wheels for running on lighter rail and bridgework with lighter load capacities, such as the wood bent trestle illustrated in Andy’s fine painting. #601 remained in service until 1984, a remarkable 38 years of service. 550 different Limited Edition railroad art prints by Andy available now at fixed prices.
