While I was creating the CTC-40's Gutter FDCs I noticed that there were extreme color varieties on some of the stamps. These color varieties are caused by either too much or too little red ink being used during some runs creating brown/purple or green/blue colors. The pictures speak for themselves. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. Scott Publishing won't list these as separate variteies, as they consider them a case of OVERinking....or is it UNDERinking.....or BOTH? Computer scans often show darker or lighter areas which aren't on the actual item, and the larger the object to be scanned, the more areas will be affected. Plus, I scan using a "cover sheet" to hold the item in place, and the plastic cover sheet can create glare. ALWAYS GO WITH THE DESCRIPTION!
