In the Old West, Black Fury and his herd of wild horses roam the prairie, and resist human efforts to tame them. Baker knows he has no chance of riding Black Fury, but he has to try, or risk losing his ranch to Huston. Black Fury is stalked by Lobo's wolf pack, in one of two stories with art by Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko. In another Ditko story, Fury manages to escape to the Mexican border, but that just gives him a different type of human to worry about. Black Fury protects newborn puppies from a wildcat, in a story with very different and beautiful art by Ernie Hart.
