Description: The Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 19, by Ludwig van Beethoven was composed primarily between 1787 and 1789, although it did not attain the form in which it was published until 1795. The B-flat major Piano Concerto was an important display piece for the young Beethoven as he sought to establish himself after moving from Bonn to Vienna. He may have premiered it on 29 March 1795, at Vienna's Burgtheater in a concert marking his public debut.[4][n 2] Prior to that, he had performed only in the private salons of the Viennese nobility. While the work as a whole is very much in the concerto style of Mozart, there is a sense of drama and contrast that would be present in many of Beethoven's later works. Early UK manufacured Decca 10" mono LP, LX 3083. Material: Original heavy duty press with orange and gold labels. and paper sleeve. Condition: Vinyl looks glossy and clean but close inspection reveals some light aging to the finish. Plays a solid VG grade. Some low level background crackle well behind the music. No loud ticks or clicks. Generally, although one is occasionally aware of background noise the LP still provides a pleasant listening experience. Sleeve around VG minus. Starting to show general wear and softening. Edges starting to wear and soften but not worn through. Small piece of surface loss front centre at entry side. See photos for details.
