It is characterized by beautiful organic, especially floral and other plant-inspired motifs, as well as highly-stylized, flowing curvilinear forms. Exponents of Art Nouveau decorative arts emphasized and promoted the importance of design itself as applied not only to architecture but to everyday objects from pottery, glassware and furniture to jewellery, wallpaper and book covers. Collected together on CD for the first time are 29 design textbooks from this period.
