The medal shows Duke Albrecht of Württemberg on its front. Since King Wilhelm II had no sons of his own, Albrecht took the position of heir to the throne. He pursued a military career and was considered one of the most capable military leaders in Germany. The back depicts a war scene in which German soldiers storm forward.
