Description: This is a very pretty piece of antique silverplate and crystal. It is a biscuit jar from Ashberry & Sons, Sheffield. The jar itself lifts out of the metal stand and has a hinged lid. Based on the marks, this piece can be dated from 1856-1899. When seated in the base, it measures about 8 inches tall. The bottom of the jar is 4.75 inches across. The base is a bit larger. The biscuit jar and stand are in good antique condition. I have not polished this piece and there is some minimal tarnish. There is one "chip" like spot along the edge. I'll be sure to get pictures of it. And there is one very small chip along the edge of the glass. I tried to get a photo of it (the last) but it's really hard to see.
